 2 Day course

Flying time 2.5 – 3.0 hours total in left seat

Day 1

History of DC-3

Ground School consists of systems, performance, weight and balance, briefing on the maneuvers, normal, abnormal and emergency procedures, techniques, pre-flight, cockpit check, checklists, power settings and airspeeds, flight profiles,  and the crew concept.

Airplane pre-flight and review of normal procedures

Day 2

Flight one – 1 – 1.5 hours

  • Pre-flight, starting, and taxi procedures
  • Runup and normal takeoff
  • Climb to cruise altitude
  • Normal turns
  • Gear and flap procedures at altitude
  • Go around at altitude
  • Demo approach to stall
  • Normal descent, approach and landing
  • Take off and landings
  • After landing and shutdown procedures

Flight two – 1-1.5 hours

  • Review of all normal procedures
  • Engine failure on takeoff
  • Single engine landing
  • Normal ILS approach to landing
  • Takeoffs and landings
